Iftar Meal from the Turkish Red Crescent to Orphans in Kyrgyzstan

The Turkish Red Crescent was given an iftar meal (the evening meal during Ramadan) at the Altın day-care orphanage school in the capital city of Kyrgyzstan in Bishkek.

Iftar meal organized by the Turkish Red Crescent in the orphanage in the village of Novo-Pokrovka in the district of Isik-Ata, Chuy region, Turkey's Ambassador to Bishkek Kamil Fırat's wife Vasiliki Cengiz Firat, Kyrgyz and Turkish Red Crescent representatives joined with Turkish businessmen.

Hosted by Şakir Dursunoğlu, assistant manager of the orphanage, traditional meals were served to the children.

Fatih Aytekin, the representative of the Turkish Red Crescent who organized the iftar meal, reported that they gave iftar to orphans in Kyrgyzstan because of the "World Orphans Day" within the activities of Ramadan.

Stating that about 150 people attended to the iftar meal, Dursunoğlu, the deputy director of the orphanage, thanked everyone who attended the Turkish Red Crescent’s iftar program.

The iftar program ended with a meal praying.

Since the Islamic Cooperation Organization announces the 15th day of Ramadan each year as the "World Orphans Day", special iftar events are organized for orphans.
