Kazakhstan opened two ports for US
President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev approved the ratification of the protocol concerning the transit of a special US cargo through the ports of Aktau and Kuryk in the Caspian Sea.

According to information provided by the Kazaktanskaya Pravda newspaper, President Nazarbaev signed a law on amendments in the protocol of the agreement between Kazakhstan and the United States on providing commercial rail transit of a special cargo through the territory of Kazakhstan.
Two ports were added to the existing railway route: the ports of Aktau and Kuryk.
The agreement between Kazakhstan and the United States on the railway transit of a special cargo through the territory of Kazakhstan was signed on June 20, 2010.
