Nazarbayev offered to build a canal connecting the Caspian and Black Seas
Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev has suggested the leaders of the Eurasian Economic Union member states at the EAEU summit to build a ship canal linking the Black and Caspian Seas.

At the meeting, Nazarbayev announced that ''Eurasia" sea canal project, which will connect the Black Sea with the Caspian Sea by a waterway, will greatly benefit the surrounding countries economically and provide great opportunities in the future.''
In addition, the president also proposed to construct a high-speed motorway connecting Asia and Europe via Kazakhstan and Russia.
