Number of foreign students in Russia to grow by 10%
In 2018, the number of foreign students in Russia increased by 10% compared to last year.
According to the data issued by the Russian Federation of Migrants, the number of foreign students in the country has increased by 10% over the year.
It is noted that from January to June this year 187 thousand 232 people arrived Russia to study. In the same period of 2017, this figure was 169 thousand 233 people.
Most of the incoming students (33 thousand 974) study in the cities of St. Petersburg and Leningrad. The number of foreign students in Moscow is 30 thousand 568. Apart from this, there are 8 thousand 143 in Tatarstan, 6 thousand 753 in Novosibirsk and 6 thousand 582 in Tomsk regions.
According to the statistics of the Russian education, the system of higher education of the country unites 607 state and 358 private universities, in which 4,7 million people study.
