Opening of the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) was held
Azerbaijan will transport natural gas from Turkey to Europe through the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP), opening ceremony was held and the first gas flow began.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Mustafa Akıncı, Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev, Serbian President Alexander Vuchic and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko attended the opening ceremony of TANAP.
Berat Albayrak, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey, made the opening speech of TANAP, which will provide employment for 10 thousand people.
TANAP starts from Turkey 's Georgian border provinces of Ardahan and Türkgözü village of Posof, will pass through 20 cities such as Kars, Erzurum, Erzincan, Bayburt, Gumushane, Giresun, Sivas, Yozgat, Kırşehir, Kırıkkale, Ankara, Eskişehir, Bilecik, Kütahya, Bursa, Balıkesir, Çanakkale, Tekirdağ and Edirne and will end on the Greek border of Edirne's Ipsala province.
In project scope, Eskişehir and Trakya cities will be two exit points for connection to the national natural gas transmission network.
