Russian Military Jet Crashes in Syria
A Russian SU-30SM military jet has crashed off the Syrian coast of Latakia and its two pilots were killed.
The Sukhoi-30SM jet took off from the Hmeymim airbase in Syria and downed in the Mediterranean.
News agencies reported that the Russian defence ministry said that the jet was not shot down and the reason for the aviation disaster could have been birds getting into the engine. “The plane was not struck by any projectile,” the RIA news agency cited the ministry as saying.
