Support from the Russian Science Foundation to the Young Researchers
The Russian Science Foundation has allocated 2.2 billion rubles (approx. 16 million TL) for new research to be carried out under the program of supporting young researchers.
In Russia, 816 young scientists won the research projects competition, which was conducted by the Russian Science Foundation this year.
According to the information received from the foundation, 503 young scientists will receive scholarships worth around 1.5-2 million rubles (140 thousand TL) annually. Also, 313 leaders of research teams of scientists will receive around 3-5 million rubles (360 thousand TL) for three years.
The foundation specified that applicants for grants are young researchers under the age of 33, but that they have already completed their doctoral studies.
Experts believe that such support will be the impetus for the development of science. The total amount allocated for the projects in 2018 is more than RUB 2.2 billion.
More than 20% of the scientists in Russia are young researchers under the age of 30.
