Turkey and Somalia cooperate for more investment in the Fishery sector
The Government of the Republic of Turkey signed a memorandum of understanding with the Somali Federal Government to cooperate in fisheries and aquaculture areas.
According to the Memorandum of Understanding on Fisheries and Aquaculture, two countries will collaborate on the responsible use of seafood.
The hunting or fishing permit and privilege will be provided in Somalia territorial waters in case if Turkish vessels have a fishing license from the Federal Ministry of Fisheries and Water Resources.
At the same time, the two countries will develop joint projects in the field of fisheries, aquaculture and processing technologies, carrying out scientific studies, sharing information and documents in technical terms as well as improving fishery control systems.
The parties will establish a joint fishery committee to carry out the reconciliation published in the Official Gazette.
