Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan Highway is set to open
According to the information of the local television channel Altyn Asyr, Turkmenistan continues to work for the construction of the border-zone motorway between Turkmenbashi-Karabogaz-Kazakhstan.
President Gurbanguli Berdimuhamedov said that this road will be the continuation of a high-speed Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi highway. The President then added that the road will increase the flow of transport and boost trade turnover between the neighboring countries.
On April, Kazakh media said that the construction of the 164 km Kenderli road stretching to the border of Turkmenistan, could start in September.
The Balkan region of Turkmenistan and Mangistau on the border of Kazakhstan bear a similarity in many respects. Having possessed oil, gas and chemical industries, these regions are transportation and logistics centers, which are connected to each other by sea, railway and highway routes.
